Law of Attraction and Weight Loss Part 1

In 2006 a movie was released called ‘The Secret’. The movie consisted of a series of interviews and focused on the concept of positive thinking and the ‘law of attraction’. This powerful concept can be applied to weight loss to help you achieve your weight loss goals. This article is all about the law of attraction and weight loss.

Are you fed up with seeing your overweight body in the mirror? Do you compare yourself to the trim body you had years ago that you see in your minds eye? Even if you were the ‘fat kid’ in school I guarantee you have a mental image of how you really want to look that doesn’t fit with your physical appearance. The reality of your physical body can be truly frustrating. But you don’t need to despair. You already have the skills you need to lose weight and return to the fitness levels of your youth.

How can this be true?

You still recall how you looked before you were overweight don’t you? When you are able to call up an image in your mind it is called visualization. Visualization is an extremely important part of the law of attraction. All you need to do is translate that image of a trim, taut and terrific you into the future in your mind. You see, when you recalled how you used to look you were practising the law of attraction and weight loss without knowing it. The time has come to lose those pounds by letting your mind control your weight loss.

Before using visualization to it’s greatest potential you need to understand how it works. What you need to do is create an image in your mind of how you want to look without the excess pounds. Sometimes it helps to create a poster of positive images and affirmations such as a photo of you when you were slim and statements like; debt free, happy family, freedom, prosperity etc. You can place this poster in a prominent position where you will see it constantly. This will assist you to maintain this mental image and in time it will penetrate your subconscious mind.

Once this image is firmly grounded in your subconscious it will start programming your body to move toward that image. This mental synergy will help motivate you to acheive your weight loss. The ultimate outcome of this is that it will be easier to maintain your diet and exercise program.

Before you go off thinking this is all airy fairy, pie in the sky trash, it might surprise you to know that although it isn’t entirely understood how visualizing a goal helps to achieve it, an increasing number of professionals agree that it works. The overwhelming weight of evidence suggests that those who truly believe that their weight loss goal is achievable, will achieve it. On the other hand, if they have any doubts that they can lose that weight, then they will struggle to lose it.

It has also been discovered that your ability to lose weight can be impacted by the negative attitudes of those you love, making weight loss much harder. The positive energy of your subconscious visualization of a healthy, slim body can eliminate the negative energy created by the negative attitudes of those around you and help you shed those pounds.

Now we have provided a basic understanding about the law of attraction and weight loss. Here is a tip on how to make it work effectively.

You must ensure that your mental image is acheivable. If you are a female who is 5’7″ and large boned, don’t visualize yourself wearing size 6 clothing because that isn’t going to happen sister, it is physically impossible. But if you visualize that 5’7″ big boned body wearing a bikini and weighing 125 to 140 lbs that can happen. Why; because it’s achievable!
